School Leaders at Carver High School Go Above and Beyond to Create Leadership Program for Male Youth
Three years ago, CIS of Atlanta
Student Support Coach, Nicole Bush, and Carver High School Resource Officer, Sergeant Quarless felt the need to begin a mentoring program to build more camaraderie among the males in their school. They took action and started a program called “Young Men Of Carver.”
Over the past three years the program has taken flight, and last Thursday, they held their first panel discussion of the year titled " Brothers & Solidarity" which focused on the importance of brotherhood, collegiality, reciprocity, and fellowship among young men.
Our very own CEO Frank Brown and Dr. Dan Sims (Associate Superintendent for Atlanta Public Schools) were two of our eight panelists, along with other distinguished guests who truly poured into these young men.
Special thanks to Ms. Hardy and her students from Price Middle School and Mr. Ellis and Ms. Guitroz and their students from Frederick Douglass High School for participating in our program.
