Reading Is Fundamental

CIS of Atlanta is one of the largest coordinators of Reading Is Fundamental (RIF) programs in the state of Georgia! The RIF program provides free, new books to every student at partner schools. Each RIF school implements three RIF book distribution events during the school year. In addition to selecting their books, students participate in fun, motivational activities that make them excited about reading! These activities may include arts and crafts, costumed characters, celebrity visitors, guest readers, snacks and more.

• How to get involved: If you have a company or organization that would like to volunteer with our RIF program, please contact us: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

A child in third grade who can't read at their grade level is likely to drop out of high school, not find a job and have kids that can't read either. The more youth there are like this, the more companies go away. There are people deciding the number of prison cells to build based on how many youth there are who lag behind in reading right now in grade 3. Unless we Turn the Page and see this is not where the story has to end.
